They feel a lot closer about this time every year. February is always the hardest for me as a work at home Mama. And even though my peace doesn't rest in my circumstances, some outings and planning for the spring seem to help me along.
We've had a few fun events in the last several weeks. Birthday parties, friends over, dates, and family nights. We've enjoyed Corinn and Kiera's All School Sings....

Getting out of the house and having fun is Such a huge blessing for me and the girls. These days of head colds, coughs, and flu's are coming to an end! Before I know it we will once again be enjoying side walk chalk, bikes, bubbles, our swing set,and long walks as a family.
As I anticipate those things I am going to do my best to enjoy today. To enjoy the cozy feeling of a warm cup up tea. To read to my girls on cold nights. To curl up in bed as I read through the Little House on the Prairie Series. To bake some warm home made cookies. And to plan our Spring Vacation.
These long winters can be what I make them, so let me choose to make the best of what I've been given.

I am also not at my best in post-Christmastime winter...but in our area this year we've enjoyed a lot of extra sunshine, which has really helped!
I am so trying to make the best of this season and you're right...looking forward to planning events and vacations sure does help!
Have you and your girls checked out my daughter's private blog yet? Because of your daughters' blog and her other penpal's blog, I went ahead and let her start one and she loves doing it!
Have a great weekend! :)

I've been feeling incredibly house bound. Not only did I have a new 1 year old start in dayhome, the weather has not let us out. First frigid and then incredibly windy. This last week was actually quite lovely but because it was the backyard became a huge yucky, sludgy mess so nowhere for a half dozen preschoolers to play out there. Sigh.
I hate to say this but I don't really understand because we live in AZ and it's so nice here right now. The summers we dread because it's so hot but the rest of the year makes up for it.
Hang in there Barbie!!
I was wondering if I was the only one feeling this way! Thanks for sharing.
When we were out in CA it suddenly occurred to me that being a mom in the spring and summer is about a million times easier than being a mom in the winter. Lord, please bring spring soon!
